Concrete has absolutely no strength on it's own. It is a challenging medium to work with. But it also has amazing properties. It can be polished, painted or stained. I would have never considered using concrete for art until I found a book on the very subject. Turns out others have been doing this for a long time. I also work with papier mache pulp (see my buddha table and lizard on a stick) and plaster. Creating a sculpture is very time consuming but I hope to have many more available soon. Shadowlike human forms are Ray Mantella's current work.
